Tough, little, Invincible? little.

Here is a project I started for fun.
Indomitable
I decided to create a small sculpture and a painting both based around the same character.
The character I created for this piece is Dom/Indomitable.
He is loosely based on the imposing figure of a unconquerable doorman/bouncer. Dom is a doorman with all the experience and battle wounds to prove it, but underneath his tough exterior, Dom is a gentle spirit.
The figures Head, limbs and clothing detail are sculpted from polymer clay. The torso is made from a modified hard plastic tube and he is painted with acrylic. Weight approx 170 grams. Dom/Indomitable is available to guard any 17cm door.

Here is the painting to go with Dom/Indomitable. Is Dom smiling?

The image is  approx 30 x 46 cm.

:)

Here are a few shots of  Dom/Indomitable in development.

Indomitable - before he was attacked with a paintbrush!

Indomitable - Cool shoes!

Dom - unfinished profile
First designs:
Zombie Dom ?

My original design had longer legs, but this was altered due to issues with balance - Dom had a habit of falling flat on his face :)

I initially decided to have the figure with no visible hands. I imagined a character with huge fists that would magically appear from his baggy sleeves when they where needed. Maybe next time?
